Phishes Poem by Aaron Jackson

Phishes

Materialism is a pond and I am just a fish.
Murky waters consuming the prettiest parts of me.
My scales have turned to rocks.
And I have been forced to watch someone
turn those rocks into diamonds.
I seemingly swim in circles for day after day
Getting pulled down by my heavy scales to the bottom
