Hello, Diamonds!
Long time, No see,
Just kidding,
Because I am engulfed in your sparkle.

I am stuck at the bottom
I am stuck at the damn bottom
Of the social hierarchy that is so hard to
climb because the people at the top,
...

Materialism is a pond and I am just a fish.
Murky waters consuming the prettiest parts of me.
My scales have turned to rocks.
And I have been forced to watch someone

Parasites come for the taking
Capitalizing on the world,
Cheating others of living.
And it's all just become one

Diamonds

Hello, Diamonds!
Long time, No see,
Just kidding,
Because I am engulfed in your sparkle.
That glistening, expensive, wonderful sparkle.

Some people tell me that I musn't spend
my money on silver and gold
But I work hard for every penny I earn
And who cares if I like the luxury
I like my shiny things, and leather things,
But my diamonds,
They are something else,
The Breakfast at Tiffany's epiphany of wealth,
Diamonds,
Always draped around my neck or
wrapped around my finger

My Diamonds have started to
replace the people around me
My ex-husband, for example,
I still have a nice shiny ring to show for it
But I don't mind these replacements,
because they never seem to let me down.
In fact, I love diamonds so much
I think I'm starting to become one.
