Pieces Of You Poem by Natasha Dowdy

Pieces Of You

I kept a piece of you when you went away
A small piece
I needed you to stay
I've had it for so long
A little reminder of you
I've tortured myself
But I've kept it like new
Now you need it back
To remember who you are
Life has chipped you away
Given you graceful scars
Just know I loved you all along
I can't anymore
You've been too long, too gone
I looked into your eyes
So beautifully blue
This piece I've carried
Now looks nothing like you
