Pity Poem by Hans Raj Sharma

Pity

Rating: 3.3

Faith
And belief
Trust
And devotion
The terms-
Misinterpreted
And misused
Relatively and
Subjectively
To play with
Emotions
All-inclusive
Minus intent.

Latent
Somewhere
In its root
Divine origin
Of its Nature
Or the nature
Of its being
Seekers
May seek
Only if
Keenly
Devoted.

Thinness
Of thinking
Makes
Big difference
Disintegrating
Wholesomeness
Of the humanity
Fragmenting
Into countless
Factions
Of the pack
Naming worldly
Religions
Though
Each
Living entity
Belongs to One.

Privileged
A few
Distinguished
Posing
To be the one
Footing
On usual
Or unusual
Experience
Be it earthly
Or spiritual one
In rem or
Personam
In fitness
Of rituals
Or conventions
Posturing
Supreme
As to fix on.

Intellect
Seems
To be a part
Of the soul
Whereas-
Heart and brain
Being
Parts of body
Both being
Poles apart
That's the pity.
