Play It Forward Poem by Jim Boone

Play It Forward

Nobody 'knew' until I told them
What everybody 'knew' without
My saying a word. That's right.

Play it forward...

My brown eye and my green eye
Send out - broadcast news about
My likes and dislikes. I was often
Penalized for not being like 'you'
Or for being too much like 'you'.

Now I penalize myself for not
Staying where I 'belong', not
Knowing where that might be
Or if it ever existed except in
Someone's mind, so I returned
To my roots and found negative
Growth and fate-full sound.
Got to breathe, exhale and

Play it forward...

All life is an obstacle course
And we all withdraw or proceed
In our own individual way.

We all care about something and
Desire to be better at this living
And understanding, withstanding
Stuff - secure or resigned to the
Status quo. Reload, reinvent and

Play it forward...
