Pleasantness - Poem by Hans Raj Sharma

This life-
A cheerful song
Can be danced
In blissfulness
Yet, a few mourn
And puff it out
But, if the mind is
To the divine
All it’s rambling
Gibberish stops
And gains
A sweet melody
Arising out of
Tuneful thoughts
And feelings.

One is free
To enjoy
Or not to enjoy
No compulsion
Of any sort
To be down
Or out for
Above all
To one who
To achieve
In chosen field
Truly being
The master-
Of his mind
Of every moment
Thought and act
To be what it may
What it welcomes
And harbours
Not only the seed
Of action
But, a great
One is always
At liberty to choose
Or discard
The paths open
To be an optimistic
Or a pessimistic
It works miracles
And springs
If channelized

Every one lives
In the mind
As image
Of its own
A sound mind
In a sound body
It develops power
Of resistance
Against diseases
As well creates
Troubles and pains
If grows weak
Due to worries
And wails
Over paltry things
That ages the man.

To stand straight
After the fall
Courage is thy name
Hopefully struggle
With courage
Life is its name.

Swinging between
Hope and despair
All one can do
Pray and pray more
As the last gizmo
At one’s disposal
One can only pray
Irrespective of
One believes or not
It sustains hope
Hope sustains life
And life sustains
The world of relations.
