Please Don'T Pray For Me. Poem by Steve Ricketts

Please Don'T Pray For Me.

Rating: 5.0

I know that I'm waiting for my day to come, I'll not be frightened of the thing that I'll become, all of my sorrow will melt away with me, then I'll find that happiness, that escaped the day that she left me.

Do not bring me flowers, to show how much you care, I don't want an inscription, to know who's laying there, just leave me to be, where my love one rests, there's nothing more I want, for nothing I care less.

I don't need a fancy service, with hollow word to bring, all of the comfort others seem to need, just let me rest in peace, forever close to be, with my only love and the one who loves me.

When I am resting, you don't need to visit me, I won't need your sorrow, there be no need to grieve, for I will have my sunshine laying next to me, it's all I've ever wanted and all I'll ever need.
