A child of the streets alone and far
Lost in a world that's harsh
The city's madness chaos and noise
The car horns blaring no peace or poise
Hunger gnawing a constant ache
No food to eat no bread to bake
Sleep and rest there's none to find
No shelter or warmth no love or kind
The sky's his roof pavement his bed
Dirty and stained from tears he shed
He roams and begs a pitiful sight
In search of survival some respite
No toys to play no fun or games
Basic needs ignored no hopes or aims
He dreams of a life that's normal and fair
A place he could call a home to share
Yet life's hard knocks made him wise
He's grown up quick, learned to improvise
He survives the streets through sheer will
Still his plight remains as sad as a spill
Twinkle............
