Plight Of Poor Children In Streets Poem by Dr John Celes

Plight Of Poor Children In Streets

Many children are poor and lost,
And wander in the busy towns,
Much mal-nourished and poorly clad,
With unkempt hair, and skin disease.

Their eyes have lost their sheen and tear;
They are not sure of food today;
And dangers lurk around corners;
They could be used, misused, abused!

This world of lucre does not care;
Such children walk, bereft of love;
Their future is too bleak and bad;
Just God alone can care for them.

The world can make their plight better,
But who will be the trend-setter?
