The key is to get all things plumb and level.
All that sand down and bevel
-ing is prelude to the squaring,
Though it’s only natural
To assume the hard-hacking
And wood-working
Are the difficult
And taxing
Labors. See, one will often favor the force and flair of bolt
And nail over stout
Shouldering; gross effort will astound
The spectator, but the home laborer knows he must tinker and hold
Until wood, like words, stands sure and sound
And walls sit still and stoney-bound
And foundations run deep and true in the ground
And foundations run deep and true in the ground.

I would like to translate this poem
first two lines very good, hate the hanging ing in the third line, the rest of the poem fails to build off of the promise of those first lines.
