Pocket In My Heart Poem by Rik Bertrand

Pocket In My Heart

Rating: 4.0

I sewed a pocket in my heart,
And in it, I kept my thoughts of you
Today that pocket ripped
And thoughts and love of you just flew.

As if they had wings, they flew away
And there was nothing I could do
I have lost all that mattered to me
And those were the thoughts and love of you.

Without those thoughts and memories
I don’t think that I can survive.
Without your love near my heart
My emotions have taken a dive.

It’s a wonder that I am still here,
The pain is so immense,
I have lost my pocket in my heart
And now my love makes no sense.

That pocket that was in my heart
It was the keeper of your love
It protected all my memories,
And the you, I was thinking of.

It was once filled with all your loving thoughts
Now it’s empty and torn apart
It was full with all your cuddles and hugs
Now it lays empty, just a cold dark heart

REB (Feb 2012) because my pocket tore
