Poem For A Funeral

Rating: 3.0

(i wrote this for my husbands funeral who died of Leukemia)
R.I.P. Kevin D. Otto

you never get a second chance
to say i love you
or goodbye
so praise your loved ones daily
and surely you won't cry

for if we lived each day
as if it were our last
we could never condemn ourselves
for wrong doings of the past

a seed of everlasting love
must be planted everyday
to last that special someone
up in heaven where they'll stay

there is no address in heaven
so no letters can be written
no telephones or text messaging
... no chairs to be a sittin'

and the seed which you have planted
will follow them to the sky
which in turn will grow into beauty
that is naked to the eye

spirits sprinting in the cosmos
pain free, full of your love
all because of the seed you planted
that will last an eternity up above. - corinne
