Poem For Dad Poem by Judy Hardy

Poem For Dad

Poem for DadHewitt Hardy

My world has changed
It has been rearranged
The love that I held so dear
It is no longer here.

I loved my dad
He was all that I had
He loved me unconditionally
I loved him back traditionally

I have never found
Another love that is true
So what am I to do
I feel so incredibly blue

As I try to carry on
I can't believe he is gone
Try to make sense of it all
But I just want to bawl

He was always there
To help and to care
Mostly I regret that I
Could not say good bye

I am confused and lost
Life is tumbled and tossed
The days don't make sense
As night falls I become tense

At night I reminisce and remember
That he was here last December.
I will live with the pain
His memory will always remain.

At night I remember and reminisce
And wish for one more kiss
A hug, a smile, a tease or wave
Are all moment I cherish and save

Time passes and grief doesn't stop
I think often of my beloved Pop
I cry when I think of him and his ways
I laugh when I think of the good old days.

I pray every night that his sprit is alright
I ask God to grant him peace and grace
I hope that he has a very special place
In heaven above and is blessed with love.
