Poem No.5: Daddy's Girl Poem by Lily Rummy

Poem No.5: Daddy's Girl

Rating: 4.5

I lost a lot of things on you
My happiness was one of them
Now I am constantly lonely
Why did you have to laugh
Standing right there
In front of my face?

My name is Daughter
Your name is Daddy
Daddy says he never
wanted anything bad
to happen
to me

Well, Daddy happened.

Constant abusing
Words spilling
from your drunkard face

How could you?
How
Could
You
Destroy me from the inside

Never apologizing
For all these hurtful words you said

You think that's alright?

And in the years to come
I will be supposed to take care of you
And your weakened drunkard body

You think that's alright?

Yeah you are the breadwinner
But you are also the death star
On the horizon
Approaching me
with your
aggressive smile

Your lips distort in a funny way
When you talk to Daughter

For all these years
Daughter was thinking
"He must be stressed at work."

Is that alright now, Daddy?

Words hurt as much
There are no excuses

If you like to destress
Take up boxing or something else
But do not use me

Do not
Use
Me

Is that alright now, Daddy?

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I just want to say something really quick. I know there was Father's Day recently. I was not happy. I was jealous of other fathers. My father and I have a very toxic relationship resulting from emotional abuse from his side and stubborness from my side. Please take that into consideration, when reading this poem.
