🌿 Poem: What Is Life?

By Fadhili Michael

What is life, I wonder aloud—
For every season bows to time.
Even death too has its appointed hour...
So why then are we born? To what end do we climb?

Oh! How strange are the tales of earth!
The wind, like a ghost, whispers secrets we don't know.
It dances east, then vanishes west,
No one knows from where it comes or where it will go.

The waters rush like troubled thoughts—
Do they remember their first spring?
We drink, we drown, we sail, we pray...
But do they whisper where they've been?

To live here is to breathe in mist,
To fill one's chest with passing air.
For all is vanity, chasing shadows,
Even laughter hides a silent tear.

I've heard there is a place prepared,
Where peace does not decay.
Where no thief breaks in, no moth destroys—
A land that does not fade away.

Oh take me there, beyond the veil!
This soil below is cursed with pain.
The ground groans with the weight of sin,
And Eden feels so far again.

So let us rise, you weary souls!
Don't make a home in crumbling dust.
This world is not the end of us—
We were made for light, for love, for trust.
