Elizaveta, this might at first seem surprising from one like myself an American embedded deeply in the Western world B-U-T I agree whole-heartedly with your statement above: But it is not the West that should explain. Amen to that. There is so much the West can learn for Mother Russia! If it would open its being. // Your second stanza leaves me breathless. Your faith in poetry, in your poems, in the spiritual life of your poems which is larger and more wonderful than their merely worldly life as literature, your faith in this art, this electric life of poetry, this hope expressed in words, this love for others, this ALTRUISM - FOR A SECOND TIME TODAY I SAY, BRAVO, ELIZAVETA!
