Poetry
embraces my soul,
like a mother her firstborn,
like the blossom's sweetness
on the lips of a honeybee.
Poetry
gleams like pearls in my eyes,
like dewdrops resting on petals,
shining with silvery morning light.
Poetry—
when the poet writes it
on paper or screen,
leaps forth to resonate
in the air, like melody.
Poetry
is born of intuition,
of inspiration in dreams,
of revelation—
invisible,
without shadow,
without voice or word,
yet shaping thoughts
that mirror
my state of consciousness.
Poetry
embraces me,
even when I am only breath
going in and coming out;
even when I lie unconscious
at night, beneath the quilt.
Poetry
in its symbolic reading,
is more than words —
it is the divine essence,
the hidden rhythm of existence,
the breath of the Beloved—
expressing itself through me.
