Poisonous People Poem by Ragy Sandid

Poisonous People

You must've met them
Over the counter
Behind the cubicle
With their famous smile

The one the tells and hides the story
Tenderness is their insignia
Advice is their creed
And signature out of nowhere u-turn
Is their motto in deed

Only the naïve would know them
Because they expect too much
Or hope too much
Or just think that another
Has the Midas touch

They'll give a touch alright
A handprint or a footprint
Depending on how large the hole
They plan to dig for you
Depending on gullibility

They'll apologize because
They know how much they love you
If love is ever translated in reverse
It is because they love you
That they view for you the upside of the universe
