Pond

I sit by a pond near a river.
The moon glistening like a river of light.
The crickets call to the lovers.
Walking beneath the stars in the night.
I hear an owl calling to who I do not know.
I see a firefly flying with a blue green glow.
I build a small fire and play a happy tune.
As I sit there, and I listen.
To the call of a single loon.
