Popcorn Dreams Poem by Nicole Andrews

Popcorn Dreams

a leather boot faced lady
laced into life
cries at night for faded flamingos
she carries an empty packet of cigarettes
in her left breast
a pocket full of hope

a brazen bride
she stooped to god
and promised him everything
yet nothing at all

she married a lover
that didn't love her

another kiss misses its target
