Portal Poem by 'Merse' Mersedes III

Portal

Let the portal take you,
Come here and stand
Like it did me
See what happened
Look at my face, it no longer shows what beauty is
I hope the same happens to you but worse
Look at what you put me through
Tell me if you’re brave enough
To do what I had done
Can you jump in and not close your eyes?
Can you cry but let no tears out?
Can you fight and show no struggle?
Let us see if you can, as I saw I can
Stand tall and straight to death
Look it in the eyes and tell it
That you can survive, can you do as I did?
Why are you shaking when you pushed me into it?
Now if I were to do the same, tell me,
Would you be scared? Would you sob and weep?
I sure didn’t, but I can see you are
Don’t you dare do what you cannot do to me!
Do you know who I am? Do you know who you are?
If yes, then who are? Just another lost soul
But thank you, you made me strong
You made my skin thicker,
Made me work a little harder
Thanks for making me a fighter
I won’t do the same to you
I won’t push you when you’ve fallen
I am not the same as you, I am caring
Good bye my dear friend
For I will take the same journey
And this time I won’t return
Like you didn’t want me to
Let me die alone but if you can
Come and join me, I know you won’t,
So goodbye
