Prayer Poem by Sue Oxley

Prayer

God within meets God without
And silence kneels to pray
Between the candle and the flame
The dawning of the day.

Feel for God who is as close
As muscle to the bone,
As near as blood to blood between
The mother and her son.

The God whose love and joy spins round
Creating silver cores
Of far angelic galaxies
Through myriads of stars.

And then your soul shall rise to move
Through cloudless realms of time
And prayer will be the mystery,
The rose through which to climb.

God within meets God without
And silence kneels to pray
Between the candle and the flame
The dawning of the day.
