Prayers Of The Heart Poem by DiAnne Douglass

Prayers Of The Heart

The prayers of the heart
Are not often heard
By the ears of mortal man
But their cries ring out
Where angels trod
And the tears shed over them
Are seen and heard by God

A small comfort it might be
To read these words upon the page
Small and meaningless for a time
Still they give me hope
For a brighter future
And a small hope that
I am not alone

So when I cry myself to sleep
I read these words allow
A small and feeble pray it may be
It comforts me and calms me down
Though the words be few
They still ring true
And so I will still say

The prayers of the heart
Are not often heard
By the ears of mortal man
But their cries ring out
Where angels trod
And the tears shed over them
Are seen and heard
In heaven, by God
