Precious Amish Memories - Poem by Marilyn Lott

I have some precious memories
That will last a lifetime for me
One that will stay in my mind
Is lunch with an Amish family

It’s like stepping into the past
It’s the horse and buggy days
I wish you could be able to see
Their fresh old-fashioned ways

Cattle and a huge silo we saw
No electricity at all is used
It was so nice to see that
Modern technology is not abused

And the food was so delicious
Like cooked from grandma’s hands
Yes, such precious memories
From the wonderful Amish land

I hope you too one day
May have the opportunity to meet
This wonderful Amish family
And taste food that cannot be beat!
