Predator Poem by Meredith Fahey

Predator

You have my heart in your hand
I look down at the gaping hole in my chest as you
Lick it
Like a cat licks cream off
Its paws, the blood
Drips down between your fingers
I wonder how I let you get
So -clossse-
Why Didn’t I feel your
Claws puncture my skin
You are near enough to kiss
I feel faint with the pain and you
Purr, “Let’s just be friends.”
