Preditors In Our Midst Poem by Bev Haigh

Preditors In Our Midst

Preditors in our midst

The ‘stars' I once looked up to
A long time way back when
The idols of my childhood
It appears are just dirty old men

The first one who would fix it for kids
Had everyone fooled it would seem
While he promised to fulfil their dreams
Kids would hold him in high esteem

He would pose as a kindly man
Who pretended he really cared
But now the truth has been revealed
How victims of his were ensnared

For his own despicable pleasure
These poor little innocents were used
The world is really sickened
By how children were abused

We hear of more and more each day
Who preyed upon the young
Yes they're finally being exposed
For their crimes they should be hung

What goes through a monstrous mind
Is beyond our human concept
Monsters who are in our midst
Mankind will never accept

We have to hope that justice prevails
And in hell they get just desserts
Punishment in life just is not enough
For these filthy and wicked perverts

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
sadly I'm hearing about the sickening crimes that so called 'stars' of yesteryear have committed, my heart goes out to the poor victims of these vile and despicable monsters who abuse children, my only hope is they can live the rest of their lives without torment.
