Present Poem by John Hazon Palen

Present

The rain outside now hides the stars.
This evening's in stark.
It's quite heavy atmosphere,
How I wish you're here.

The silence makes me feel sad.
Your laugh still resounds,
As I'm wanting you so bad..
Coldness creeps around.

I miss your hand holding mine.
It sure gives good warmth.
Well, our long-lost love's not fine;
Sorrow harms my heart.

I've found my dream incomplete,
For off sparks were swept.
Without you as part of it,
Ending's out of reach.

Now won't we go back to the
place we've known?
Redeeming our past ain't grind.
Oh, yes, life goes on.
Can't believe you have phoned.
The dawn breaks this time.
