Pretend Poem by Adelina Vartolomei

Pretend

I like to pretend
That I like your perfume -
I come in for a kiss
And you won’t have a clue.
I like to pretend
That I’m clumsy and naïve -
I search for a match
And caress your sweet hand.
I like to pretend
I don’t know how to walk -
My eyes on the sky
While I run into you.
I like to pretend
You mean nothing to me -
I keep it all to myself
And smile on like a fool.
