Pretend Friend Poem by Candace Johnson

Pretend Friend

You claim you’re my friend
You say you have my back
But my honor, you never defend

But when I have money
Or something cool
You laugh & smile & call me honey
You act like I’m the queen & I rule

But then when I’m hurt
And feeling bad
You feel the need to dig up some dirt
And you expect me to never get mad

But I have feelings, too
Just like you
I want a good friend
Not some one who just pretends
