Pretending To Give A Shadow To A Girl Poem by Robert Rorabeck

Pretending To Give A Shadow To A Girl

Obsessions from the opened backs of trucks
Lying underneath the citrus trees
We have heard so much talk about—
The dwindling sun makes a zoetrope of
These orchards,
And pretends to give a shadow to a girl
I've never seen.
