Pride - Poem by Garrett Bradley

A word a whole culture one held dear
When self-respect and self-confidence mattered
When 'It takes a village to raise a child' was relevant
When community came before the individual
When shepherd abandoned 99 sheep to find one lost lamb

A word that our nation holds dear today
Now that everyone has to get there's
Now that 'Get rich or die tryin'' is a popular phrase
Now that people are killed for clothes
Now that people could care less if a newborn went missing

Which pride do you think we need more today
