Prison Does Something To A Man Poem by ben nourse

Prison Does Something To A Man

They cover up and bury their lies
Your opinion doesn’t apply

The human in you eventually dies
You become distant, detached and shy

You lose all memories and apply by the unwritten code
your family, encoded mind implodes

you do stuff you wouldnt normally do
your mind becomes distorted and your view is eschew

people look at you in a completely different light
you ghostwrite letters of you former self under lamplight
