Problems Poem by Ben Croft

Problems

Shining steel
A length of rope
Backstabbing friends
Alone without hope
My heart is broken
My eyes running wet
Nightmares I suffer, That ill never forget

Is life a game?
Was this all for fun?
Do my feelings even matter, to anyone?
I scream and shout
And bloody my hands
I cower and pout,
but nobody understands

My eyes are so tired
I can't sleep at night
I curl up in bed
and hug myself tight

I drop to my knees
tears rolling from my eyes
I think back on my life,
built on nothing but lies
A flash of silver,
a small pocket knife
such a thing so small
The problem solver to my life.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I was asked by a friend who writes poetry, he asked me to write a poem about my life.
'Just write down the first things that come to mind'
So I did. I cant say it was easy, because it took me at least four hours to finally get the words out.
This is the first poem I have written, and the first time I have really expressed what I am feeling to other people.
