Atop Edinburgh Castle
On the parapet from which
Mons Meg looms
With a threatening pow'r
Looking north
On a cloudy day
Suddenly the sun comes out
But the beams streaming in
Are blocked by the enormity
Of the castle rock
Casting a vast shadow on the
City below
Darkness everywhere
Except
There
On the Firth of Forth
There is a band of sunshine
On the river edge
The light breaking across
From the top of the
Mount
You don't believe me?
It's true!
Sunshine on Leith! !
The Proclaimers knew what they were
Talking about!
