Promise Poem by prabhakar bhatlekar

Promise

On a drowsy tree
leaves flutter as
the blazing noon
burn the sound.
Some dead leaves
tangled in a web.
Vertiginous noon
keep watching a bee
carving a song on
blank air and vanish.
A flake slid from
dilapidated wall startled
meditating lizard.
Holy book of fate
nearing the honoured end.
Song-soaked heart
bleed maddening songs.
Enigmatic road
call for walking.
To leave this place
and go elsewhere.
Nothing is meaningless.
Your fistful energy
hold a promise of tomorrow.
