Promises Poem by Antony Glaser

Promises

Do saints keep their promises
Is life a rouse?
Am I not worth ten soldiers?
The times have flickered away
Bind forth the uncouplings

Into Eastern skies
that swallows the night
I've read between the lines
into the tenderness of the breeze
and willow sway
