Promises Poem by Clive Culverhouse

Promises

Rating: 5.0

you speak your promises in tongues
how can I not trust a tongue that licks
ice cream on airy beaches gorged
with holiday; crepuscular living
in the sweetened opal dew,
you speak your promises in tongues
how can I trust a tongue so snide
