Promises Poem by Mimie Durand

Promises

Promises are silently spoken
Some are perilously broken
Some souls are dammed
Other’s scammed.

Some have reached their highest goal
Others fail and search their soul
Some lay in their death bed dying
Others strong but for them crying

Some want to reach the sky
Others can’t reach that high
Some will climb the tallest wall
Others may try but then they fall

Hopeful that the day will come
That lives turn around and won’t succumb
That all will lend a weak man a hand
And all creatures flourish in the promise land
