Propulsion And Propitiation Poem by A. David Abraham

Propulsion And Propitiation

Rating: 4.5

The enormity of time weighs upon me

I wish I could dance further, love more

The essence of the vagaries which pour forth in my mind

Surely there must be a finish
A rhyme or reason

A crystal ball does not give us the answers
Nor do our insides

We keep searching
But the answer is not inside of us or outside of us

It never was
It never existed
Until we find it on our own

Then we learn the lesson
We fight the fight
And win

This is how we move on

Questions asked of us never seem to fail
We have fallen short
And again those winds have blown strong

Blip Blip Blip

Like the patter of rain against the shutters
Like the torrent of emotions that flood our souls
Like the never-ending stream of love which warms us
The rivers of doubt which assail

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
One central aspect of this poem is about the ongoing fight of life - the battle of Life which continuously rages and which we constantly fight against amidst the growing, lengthening shadow of time which races against us.

It is never-ending with small victories, endless redemption and mercies along the way and endless emotional sways and doubts.

A constant falling and getting up, moving forward and moving on.
