Protecting You Poem by Bobby Pask

Protecting You

When cowering
And on the ground
And they are towering
You’ll be found

When I come
They won’t stay about
Unless they’re dumb
And there will be a bout

I’ll help you stand
I’ll say, “You okay”
Where’s the band
To yell, “Hooray”

It better to be to apologize
If they again come to you
If not, they won’t realize
When they come too

If they come for me
Please don’t help
I won’t flee
And I won’t yelp

If I fight
It’s for you
I’ll use all my might
Everything’ll be cool

When done
Weather up or on the ground
I’ll stand and not run
I’ll go another round

If they get to thee
I’ll be out cold
I’m sorry
I tried to be bold

Protecting you: no stuttering in fear
Even in school
I won’t sit on my rear
I will rule

When it’s over
I’ll be the winner
They’ll move to Dover
If I protect you, I don’t care about being a sinner
