Psychonaut Poem by jon groff

Psychonaut

Rating: 4.0

The red sun is sinking down, and when the new black moon rises
the mystical wizard casts his spell, summoning demons from hell.
Will you watch the cosmic tide swallow the Earth?
Will you wallow in its ashes waiting for a rebirth?
Incubated in the womb of a silent sea of green,
embryonic growth waiting for a birth so serene.
In the sky of your life stars shall once again rise,
but not before your blatant ignorance dies.
It is time to sail away the courses have been set,
the beginning of a journey that you'll never forget.
Taking inner paths into outer space, leaving without a trace.
traveling through the cosmos, whilst remaining in one place.
As you go deeper inside you realize there's no place to hide
what's the matter you look scared? Didn't you say you were prepared?
The prophets are all dead, there is nothing left to be said.
In order to escape time immortal, death is the only portal.
You follow the river around the bend, ride the spiral till the end.
and when you arrive you'll be lucky if you're still alive.
curiosity is what brought you here, and what keeps you is fear.
can you rebuild yourself to win, or will you drown in your sin?
will you roll the stone up the hill only to watch it tumble?
will you continue to try even though you always stumble?
The problem with the divine, is that their truth filled wine.
are really lies that intertwine, grown from a deceitful vine.
What's the matter isn't this what you expected to find?
I thought you wanted me to show you your mind.
