Ptsd Poem by chris schwartz

Ptsd

All seems like Heaven
Until it all goes to Hell,
When your dreams
Are unraveled
In the second
That you fell.
When the one
That you cling to
Can't grasp you and say
Don't worry, baby,
I got you, today.
Suddenly you face
A world so alone
Everyone's a stranger,
To you, they're unknown.
The sunrises are brutal
Awakening the dawn
That you fear,
The sunsets are worse
All the demons creep near.
So far away
From the city you knew
Can't go back there now anyway
To those who've abandoned you.
You want to live life
Yet the pain is so strong
This is what PTSD is
Everyday,
All day long.
