Punctuated Equilibrium Poem by Long Tooth

I'm a primitive thinker and not very smart,
But what wisdom you find here comes straight from the heart.
Let me not self-aggrandize, I'm one of life's fools,
And my pathway is marked by the bodies of rules.

I'm a chief among sinners: your low - I've been there,
And for much of my life lived unbothered with care.
My attention was focused on personal gain,
When I wasn't wrapped up in a battle with pain.

With no deep expectations of help from above
Reconciled to my living a life without love,
But then one day enlightenment came I confess
And convinced me to give up on solving my mess.

What a gift when I let God's Grace deal with my sin
For it opened my heart to let others come in.
