翻江倒海我为尊，金箍棒下镇妖氛。
腾云驾雾翻四海，火眼金睛辨假真。
取经九九多磨难，初心不缘天命魂。
笑看群魔无生路，斗战胜佛名永存！
POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
The poem chiefly recounts the epic journey of Sun Wukong as he conquers demons and overcomes obstacles to ultimately secure the sacred texts. And the accompanying picture shows the moment when The God of Morningstar convinces him to rise to the heavens and embrace his role as the Great Sage Equal to Heaven.
