Purge Liberation Poem by Genele Gillado

Purge Liberation

Stronghold of my countrymen, I once
To voice my thought with pure intent
To be heard in contempt
Only to be ridiculed is what I got
From what I have, obtrusive clamor

Lo and behold, came a time to speak
To stood ahead the fore
Filled with confidence, mind with intelligence
Opened thy mouth to voice a notion
Only to be laughed and dismissed my motion

Sniff of rancid, rowdy appeal
Glimpse of grotesque, distaste innate
Strained, fraught, antsy as it can be
Mummed by polity
Now, how I can utter?

If I could only voice during deliberation
Will they take me into consideration?
If I could only afford a reconstruction
Will they hear me without hesitation?
If I could only be someone they'll take earnestly.
