'Promise me Oh women of Jerusalem
By the swift gazelles and the deer
not to awaken love until the time is right! '
Love is to lie low for a while!

I hear your words of wisdom!
I will wait patiently
For my lover to come to me!
To steer the love that is within me!

When will I realise the truth?
To realise that we are connected!
When will he gain the courage?
To make that first step!

Or has he done so already!
He is also waiting for a response,
And yet I have missed the sign!
So two lovers are awaiting for the same thing!

Do I make a move?
Will I be rebuffed?
Is fear holding the love that I yearn for?
Am I letting my love slip through my fingers?

He is all that I want!
Just the way he is!
All passions deep within him!
Not visible to any except me!

I promise to wait!
I will not be swift!
I will not awaken love until the time is right
I will let love lie low for only but a little while!
