Puzzle Piece Poem by Steven Elsner

Puzzle Piece

I'm a lost puzzle piece.
Would you complete my puzzle please?
Find my matching friends,
And connect us at the ends.

Until I'm complete,
I'll suffer the ultimate defeat,
And lay mistreated on the tiled floor,
Waiting to be reunited with my wild four.

One day I'll be finished,
And my loneliness will be diminished,
I'll laugh alongside others,
Whom I'll consider my brothers.

But 'till then I'll wait,
For the divine hands of fate,
To lift me where I am needed,
And to where my calls for friends will be heeded.
