Quantum Dad, Quantum Lover
I exist in two places -
Behind these dirtfilled walls,
In the shadow of the Garambak Pass –
In the grime filled grind of dusty disillusion.
And the mattress wallow beside you, window cracked
To a robin’s song on the green green grass –
Where the boy fights bed-time,
And protests the injustice of an absent dad.
“We are a team” he says to you.
But don’t count me out –
Because when you take my measure
On the grainy feed of internet video
I snap back from my superposition.
To exist with you - alone.
The only matter
in the time we call this year.
