Queen And King Poem by BASAB CHAUDHURI

Queen And King

When everyone observes everyone,
no one observes at all—
a perfect symmetry
where everyone wins,
and no one does.

When you turn every page,
you turn none—
under such a spell,
you either remain in a cage
or awaken as a sage.

Nothing frees like freedom—
yet only the king is free
within the kingdom.
And the queen—
is she not free?
Perhaps she is—
but only
if the king agrees.
