Queen Of The Night - Poem by Jessica Millsaps

You follow her haunted footsteps through the darkness,
Her grey eyes so daring, her dark hair so alluring
The bright moon behind her shows you of her real beauty,

A haunted soul, on a haunted night
Black ravens fly around her, her friends, her followers

She holds in her hand a key, hanging gently by string
She glances towards you, daring you ever closer
The first gift of her look is understanding,
Knowing that one step will destroy all this
The second gift is the key,
It represents her secrets, and what may open them
The third but final gift is so small, it shows nothing to you

Your eyes dart to hers, dancing in the dark
Her small smile spreads and she gives you a glance
You take a step towards you, and she is gone
Suddenly, as if she just disappeared, or never existed at all
Two words float back to you on the wind,
Haunting you for the rest of your days
'Night Queen
